For those of you who are fans of the horror film series, “Jeepers Creepers” - then the title of this blog won’t escape you. However, if you have not been lucky enough to view at least the first film, if not both of them (part three is in the production phase) then you best get on it! Then and only then will you get my choice of title… (insert wicked laugh here) I love the films very much. Writer/Director Victor Salva deserves a big round of applause. (His masterpiece “Powder” is one of my favorite films of all time.)  The first ”Jeepers Creepers” especially, takes so many seemingly genre cliches and finds a way to make ‘em scary again! The tension this film manages to create for the viewing audience is nothing short of terror-iffic!  The title is taken from the 1938 song of the same name. This standard classic has never been so scary as when you hear it in the movie.  From great music, realistic characters (leads played beautifully by Justin Long and Gina Philips) and a main villian TOTALLY ready for horror ICON statis from the first moment you take notice of “him”!! (”The Creeper” is brilliantly portrayed by Jonathan Breck) You just know that Freddy, Jason, Michael, Chucky, Pinhead, Leatherface, Jigsaw and the Tall Man would all jump right into “Christine”, go pick up The Creeper and drive off into ‘Horror Icon Heaven’ in a heartbeat. Or should I say….in a last heartbeat! (get the “Christne” reference? If not, another classic film you should see.) I’m not going to spoil a thing about the movie - that’s why you are not getting even the least amount of description from me. It’s THAT good. Trust me. Â
