Make a Winnie the Pooh Costume
Lay out the yellow felt and cutting two identical half circles out to form ears. Attach them to the top of your yellow hoodie sweatshirt on the wrong side. Use a hot glue gun to attach the pipe cleaners to the back of the ears so they stand up on their own. Write the word “HONEY” on the yellow jar using your permanent marker.
Turn your sweatpants and hoodie inside out before wearing to create a fuzzy. Wear the red shirt underneath your zipped up hoodie and don the sweatpants. Place the socks on your hands to create “bear hands” or substitute mittens in their place. Use the face paints to create a yellow base on your face and neck, following it with black face paint on your nose and eyebrows to create a bear-like look. Carry the honey jar to complete the Winnie the Pooh effect.
Take a trip to the land of the undead with this accessible and easily constructed mummy costume. Before you begin, wear comfortable, light-colored underclothes, since you’ll be wearing the costume as you go.
Mummy Costume Materials:
Dark eye shadow
Dark gray eyeliner or face paint
Three rolls of gauze
Two white bed sheets
White socks
Medical tape
Costume blood or red food dye
Making a Mummy Costume at Home
Begin making the costume by ripping the bed sheets into long strips of roughly 2-3 inches in width. Tie one end of a strip around your ankle and wrap it around your leg, making sure to overlap slightly and taping the end down with medical tape. Repeat until your entire body is wrapped. For your hands, wrap the strips around them in a mitten-like shape to allow you to grasp objects while keeping with the mummy effect.
Layer pieces of gauze around the outside of the cloth wraps and wind gauze around your face and head loosely. Make sure that you can breathe and see adequately. Allow loose ends of gauze to “drift” from your body to create an “unwrapping” effect. Use dark gray eyeliner or face paint to create dark circles around your eyes. You can use costume blood or red food dye carefully splattered on the gauze or cloth strips to create a terrifying effect.

Assemble Your Own Kermit the Frog Halloween Costume
Start by creating Kermit’s eyes by cutting two cardboard circles from your box. Use a hot glue gun to cover each circle with green felt and to attach the wiggly eyes in the center bottom of each circle. Next, use the hot glue gun to attach the eyes to the front of the green hat, positioning them just above the bill.
Measure your neck and cut out a 4-inch wide strip of green fabric to those dimensions, making sure to make one edge of your cut jagged in a zig-zag motion. Use double-sided tape on one end for fastening around the neck. Wear your green sweat suit. Don the green hat, tucking up any loose hair into the cap. Finally, apply green face paint to your face, neck and hands to complete the full Muppet effect.
